Sunday's In My City segment - Cardiff By The Sea

Unknown Mami

IT'S SUNDAY, and that means if you click on the link above you can visit San Francisco today!  Or tons of other amazing city's all over the world. Check it out but don't forget to come back to "Cottage By The Sea" because, I want to show you how my city looked on this Valentine's Day 20010.

Today in Southern California it was all blue skies and sunshine.  Our temp was about 70 degrees and this being St Valentine's Day, we were loving it!

At the end of our street begins a trail, which leads down a sandy path, through some majestic Torrey Pines, right onto one of the prettiest beaches you'll ever see. Technically this isn't my city but, it's right next door, so come share the sunset with me today at "Cardiff By The Sea" Click on the link to find out more about this city.  You may find it the perfect vacation spot!

At our house the rule for the teenagers is that they have to be home by sunset. This is what sunset looked like at Cardiff today.

However, my teenagers idea of sunset looks more like this. This idea of sunset is where the trouble begins.  When this is your understanding of sunset, you end up grounded! And that's just no fun for anybody.

So getting back to "sunset," how amazing is this?  Breathtaking...

this sea, whose gently awful stirrings seem to speak of some hidden soul beneath"-Melville

The pebbles on this beach remind me of the beaches in West Ireland.  They fade out into grainy sand as you get closer to the water.

I loved sharing the sunset in Cardiff By The Sea with you today.  I hope you enjoyed it too.   Thanks for stopping by my city.  Now scurry home, or you might get grounded!

Love you more than all the sunsets that people watched in all the cities all around the world today.

Blessings,

Tia

Golly they are gorgeous sunsets and the sea is beatiful where you are at. I guess not all of North America is covered with feet and feet of snow. Your climate and weather is probably very similar to what we receive here in Sydney, Australia. Take care and enjoy.

Oh, your sunset is SO lovely. And I am very jealous of your 70 degree weather! It was 29 today here and so cold! We also have over 30 inches of snow on the ground... : )
I am happy that you had a pretty Valentines Day. Hope the kids made it home safe : )

stunning...i love sunsets on the beach...unforunately i've nearly always lived on east coasts, except Perth but there is a wind called the doctor that comes in around 10am and whips up the sand too much so you can't really hang out there...my favourite place to watch them though was the south of India

ooo ... I thought I had left a comment here yesterday. Sometimes I forget to enter that pesky check word.

I like very much your sunsets here, Tia. Lots of SoCal remind me of the eastern coast of Australia.

Take care, and thank you for your comment on my Travel Blog.

My goodness these photo's are beautiful.
And 70 degree weather is perfection. We don't get enough of that where I live. It's 70 for too short a time and immediately into hot and humid.

Where do you vacation - this looks like paradise?

I have to laugh about the kids having to be in at sunset. Ours was when the street lights came on. Guess that is east coast/ west coast eh?

I grew up on Lake Erie and lived at the beach. While it's not the ocean or sea it is still water and is everything to me. Now I have a summer home on a lake which is my Zen. but I'm sure you've seen all those photo's.

Thanks for the beautiful diversion here at work today. I may just have to visit you some day....

La Jolla is where my hubby & I would go about a week before each baby (there were four) was born. I love all the cities in this area! Thanks for sharing the sunsets. I have very warm memories of beach sunsets.

Thanks for the comment Helene. I don't know how it happens but, every sunset here is more beautiful than the last! Yeah, and my kids have more problems with that sunset rule than any other. Luckily it's almost daylight savings time.
