I'm Proud To Be An American

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY EVERYBODY!

My girlies made this beautiful and tasty treat to commemorate the holiday today.  Help yourselves!

I love this song by Lee Greenwood.  It sums up my thoughts today exactly.

God Bless The USA

by Lee Greenwood

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I'd worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.
I'd thank my lucky stars,
to be livin here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can't take that away.
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.
From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.
That I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.
And I'm proud to be and American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA

I'll be back tomorrow to tell you all about this weeks goings on at the cottage.  Think - front door; texture on the walls and cabinet installation.  Yippee.

Blessings,

Tia

Oh-how I adore that cake. I usually make one of those for the 4th of July. Just decadent, isn't it? Love that old Lee Greenwood song-always brings a tear to my eye to hear it...but then I tear up over The Star Spangled Banner too-lol Anxious to see your updates this coming week. I met Laurie (over at Heaven's Walk) through your blog-We (she and I) have decided that the three of us need to sit down with a nice glass of wine and talk. I get to go first because it was MY idea!
